Application

After you have applied, the process would take about 12 months for approval, and 2 months for children born to Singaporean citizens overseas.

Post Approval

Upon attaining In-Principle Approval, Singapore citizenship applicants aged 16 to 60 years old are required to complete the mandatory Singapore Citizenship Journey (SCJ) programme.

Approval Letter

If you are above 21, the letter will be used to renounce you previous citizenship and you can start preparing all the documents required to register for Singapore Citizenship.

3 to 6 months after registering your Singapore citizenship, you will be invited to a citizenship ceremony where the Singapore citizenship certificate will be presented to you to mark your new journey as a citizen.
